British Canoeing - the "official body" for canoeing. The Go Canoeing section is useful, and membership is the easiest option for those requiring a licence for most of the navigations of England and Wales.

The Open Canoe Association - friendly organisation promoting all things open canoeing

The Paddler - the International magazine for recreational paddlers, both free online and in a print version. High quality articles covering every aspect of paddling, be it kayaking, SUPs, oceans, rivers, open canoes or anything else. I'm proud to have had several articles published by them.

riverapp - Phone App for river conditions from more than 20 000 sites inthe UK, Europe and north America, a really handy thing to have. Shows gauges, sections, rivers.

Medway Canoe Trail - arguably the best infrastructure on a navigation, with portage platforms, and canoe slides around almost all the locks/weirs. Long enough for 2 days paddling.

Elveys Canoe - Canoe hire, training and guided trips on the River Medway, Kent.

Walk Highlands - a website and forum for all things to do with Scottish Walking, plus a bit from the UK and the rest of the world. The Trip reports are an excellent source if information and inspiration for walking in the Highlands. Register for up to 1:25k OS map viewing and plotting.

The BMC - the national body for Mountaineering, Climbing and Hillwalking.

Ordnance Survey link

Ordnance Survey - the best mapping organisation in the world, we are very lucky. OS Maps app is a useful tool, for a small annual fee.

UK Hillwalking website

UK Hillwalking - a website and lively forum for all things to do with hillwalking, as well as banter to do with the outdoors in general.
